Description
Manganese deficiencies is indicated when leaves become mottled with lighter green or yellowish green areas between the major veins. It appears in the young leaves first. The veins themselves and bands of tissue on each side remain green. If the deficiency is severe it will persist in mature leaves.
Deficiencies more often occur in alkaline soils where the manganese may be in an insoluble compound form.
Manganese deficiencies can be common in citrus crops.
Manganese is most effective when applied as a foliar spray in spring or summer, when new growth is being made.
